Boeing supplier GKN Aerospace has announced its plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Orangeburg, South Carolina, that will produce inlet lip skins for the Boeing 737 MAX and 777X. The new facility will be located adjacent to the company’s current assembly facility. Production programmes will be carried out in the new facility, and technology development work supporting these programmes will remain at the company’s Camarillo facility.
