Ducommun Incorporated has announced this month that it has finalised a cooperative research agreement with Airbus to jointly develop commercial aerospace applications using Ducommun’s FoamMatrix technology, a resin-transfer moulding process. The two companies will explore potential uses for flight surfaces under the agreement as the technology would provide weight and cost savings while producing a high-strength end product.

Boeing supplier GKN Aerospace has announced its plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Orangeburg, South Carolina, that will produce inlet lip skins for the Boeing 737 MAX and 777X.
