WSoptics: Indeed A Revolutionary Idea!

WSoptics wowed the judges at the EuroBLECH 2016 awards with its revolutionary idea -- a easy enough fixture that can turn a laser cutting machine into one that does laser welding too.

For WSoptics, who are exhibiting at the Schroder Group booth in Hall 11, it was their first time in a trade show, and doing a world premiere of the WSweld Laser Welding Head TC08 to boot.

The complete laser welding solution can be readily integrated into a laser cutting with minimum effort and is suited for many of Trumpf’s installations (TruLaser and the Trumatic range machine types). Said Florian Sepp, CEO of the company: “It’s a simple idea -- take a cutting machine, remove the head and replace it the WSoptics’ head. The software programme does the rest.”

Mr Sepp adds: “The head costs only 5 percent of a traditional laser welding solution as such, it offers a significantly lower investment than with traditional laser welding machine.”

The installation comes with a processing table and added fixtures for laser welding. Edit and adjust the software accordingly and the laser cutter becomes a ready-to-use laser welder. With a simple swap of the processing heads, the laser welder is turned back into a laser cutter.

In addition, the modular processing table allows for the easy installation of fixtures while its 3D software automatically generates programmes for machine.

Both deep penetration and heat conduction welding is combined in one welding head. Dr Christopher WeiB, CEO and designer of the WSweld 3D Programming Suite software took approximately a year to develop it. The programme leads the way straight from a 3D model to the finished assembly.

He adds: “It is simple to use and adds all the laser technology data into the machine programme automatically.”
