Renishaw will be opening a new 133,000 sq ft office and warehouse facility located in West Dundee, Illinois, about 40km from Chicago. Slated to be completed by June 2016, the two-storey facility will be the company’s North American headquarters.

The recent opening of the Renishaw Innovation Centre was graced by the presence of Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, who officially opened the building and presented the company with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.

The Additive Manufacturing Products Division (AMPD) of Renishaw has relocated to a larger site in Stone, Staffordshire earlier in March this year. The new 90,000 sq ft facility is located on Brooms Road, Stone Business Park.

Renishaw was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2015 in the Innovation category for the development and manufacture of its RESOLUTE family of non-contact, optical position feedback devices. With the position encoder, it is now possible to tailor the performance of motion control systems used in manufacturing and other environments. This award is the company’s 18th Queen’s Award in the 50th anniversary year of this prestigious awards scheme.
