Renishaw’s Additive Manufacturing Division Relocates

The Additive Manufacturing Products Division (AMPD) of Renishaw has relocated to a larger site in Stone, Staffordshire earlier in March this year. The new 90,000 sq ft facility is located on Brooms Road, Stone Business Park.

The company’s move reflects the expansion of the global additive manufacturing industry sector. With a larger facility, the company hopes to nurture sustained business growth.

“The new site in Stone is about more than just additive manufacturing. It will showcase our company’s involvement in fields like industrial metrology, spatial laser measurement and additive manufacturing,” explained Robin Weston, marketing manager of AMPD.

“We aim to develop close partnerships with our customers and help them understand the full process chain of additive manufacturing, as well as to evaluate how to integrate with it with conventional technologies.”

The new site will incorporate a network of additive manufacturing solution centres where companies interested in the technology can trial the company’s additive manufacturing systems and fully evaluate the suitability of the technology, before deciding on ownership.

The new site will also have facilities and lecture rooms, and a large R&D area that the company aims to use to keep ahead of industry demands. “We want the new site to be a hub for innovative ideas and exciting projects around additive manufacturing,” said Weston.
