3D printing has been used in a ‘world first’ creation and implantation of a new sternum and part of a rib cage to replace that of a 54-year-old man diagnosed with cancer.

Toshiba Corporation has announced that their India-based company, Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Limited, has been awarded a full Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) contract to build a thermal power plant by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL).

Renishaw will be opening a new 133,000 sq ft office and warehouse facility located in West Dundee, Illinois, about 40km from Chicago. Slated to be completed by June 2016, the two-storey facility will be the company’s North American headquarters.
