European Stocks Rise With Metals

Bloomberg reported a slight uptick in China stocks and an increase in European stocks, in large part due to strong showings by steel commodities.

Copper rose 1.5 percent to reach a high of $4,678.50 a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange (LME). Nickel, aluminium and zinc also saw an increase of more than one percent as the LME saw industrial metals take the largest decline since 22 September 2015.

The decline in the LME index for six base metals was mainly due to data showcasing weaker factory activity in both U.S. and China, two of the world’s largest metal consumers.
