Lantek’s 2015 CAM Software

Lantek has improved its software this year. New features allow more accurate calculations of time and increased productivity for the metal industry.

In the CAM 2D software, with new parameters for the machine’s configuration and new algorithms for increased accuracy in time calculations, immediate and substantial improvements in production planning and costs can be made, said Asier Ortiz, technical director of the company.

Also, the software now makes for productivity and a shorter learning curve, as now it is possible to import pieces even from drawings in PDF format, find a geometry that can be worked with, clear away unwanted elements, and create an accurate quote very quickly, added Mr Ortiz.

For the company’s CAM 3D software, a complete design environment for processing work with pipes is incorporated, with all the functionality of the company’s CAD/CAM systems. Accurate time calculations for operations involving pipes and profiles with five axes are possible, and any type of support/tool can be defined or modified in order to optimize Collision Prevention.

It is now possible to integrate the software with other systems as well, like StruMIS Connector and Tekla Structures Connector. The software’s Masterlink, the mechanism connecting the CAD/CAM with the company’s existing management systems, now has improved integration capacities for managing sheet metal and scrap geometry.

The new software uses a new category of prices and an improved calculation of gross and net margins, so users can increase their productivity, said Mr Ortiz. The different discounts, prices and margins can be used for each of the costs imputed, based on market or business conditions, he explained.
