Boeing’s current CEO Dennis Muilenberg will succeed Jim McNerney as chairman when he retires on 1 March.

Muilenberg began his journey in the company as an engineering intern, before rising to CEO more than 25 years later. Muilenberg furthered his career by coincidentally replacing McNerney as CEO. He has also served as president and CEO of Boeing Defence, Space and Security.

Muilenberg is expected to take over from McNerney when he officially retires in March. McNerney has served as Chairman for a decade, joining the board in 2001 and elected chairman in 2005.
