Tesla Delivers Past Its Forecast

The US automaker Tesla Motors Incorporate has delivered 10,030 cars, of the electric Model S sedan, the Palo Alto, in the first quarter of this year alone. Deliveries rose by 55 percent compared with the same period in 2014 and beat its own guidance, said Elon Musk, co-founder of the company.

The predicted sales in February had been 9,500 vehicles for the first quarter.

The carmaker aims to make electric cars for the masses by boosting production with the construction of a battery factory near Reno, Nevada, but faces challenges at home and abroad. One such challenge is the five-year low gas prices that make traditional cars more attractive to US drivers at present.
