Chicago, USA: The new solution brings together products offered from Autodesk, Delcam, Netfabb, Pan Computing and Magestic Systems into one set of manufacturing solutions. This includes HSMWorks, Inventor HSM, Fusion 360, FeatureCAM, PowerMill, PartMaker (now included in FeatureCAM), PowerShape, PowerInspect and Netfabb.

The civil aerospace is currently experiencing unprecedented demand for new aircraft, with both Boeing and Airbus predicting a need for well over 30,000 new passenger and dedicated freighter aircraft in the next twenty years. Peter Dickin shares his thoughts.

Over the past five years, German automotive toolmaker Konrad Schäfer Modell und Formenbau has switched all its static and portable CMMs, as well as its hand scanners, to Delcam’s PowerINSPECT inspection software.  The results of standardising on a single software have included lower training expenses, greater staff flexibility and perfect CAD compatibility.

Inspection software to verify potential errors on machined parts are critical to ensuring wastage and eventually improving cost savings. By Peter Dickin, Marketing Manager, Delcam.

Delcam has introduced the R2 ArtCAM Pro, with improvements that includes creating structures for 3D Printing, easier designing with vectors, more design options with real-time updating and faster machine simulations.

The hype of the manufacturing world in recent years is centred on sustainability—of practices, of technology or of waste disposal—for a better future. But what exactly does ‘sustainable manufacturing’ mean, and how can a manufacturer achieve or engage in it? By Michelle Cheong

Delcam has upgraded their PowerSHAPE Pro software to include improvements in speed and simplifying product design editing. The new 2015 R2 version has increased accuracy in snapping alignment points, a split-screen alignment option so users can easily and quickly combine multiple scans of a product, and an ability to morph a complete solid or surface model to a mesh.

Delcam has announced the appointment of its new industry marketing manager, Charles Jones. In his new role, he will focus on growing the company’s business in many areas where robots can be applied as alternatives to conventional machine tools or hand finishing operations.

Birmingham, UK: Manufacturing software developer Delcam has appointed Pete Baxter as VP. Mr Baxter joins Delcam from its parent company, Autodesk, where he was a VP of sales and served as the country manager for Autodesk in the UK.

“In his new role, Pete will be responsible for managing the global Delcam business, and for leading the company in the next stage of its growth. Pete brings extensive leadership experience and knowledge that will be critical in helping Delcam develop closer connections to Autodesk, to the benefit of both organisations and our customers,” said Buzz Kross, Autodesk senior VP, Design, Lifecycle and Simulation.
