UK-based precision engineering firm Renishaw has opened a new "significantly" larger facility for its Taiwan subsidiary in the Taichung City Precision Machinery Innovation Technology Park.
Bristol, UK: Renishaw is contributing its additive manufacturing expertise to a new £17.7 million (US$23.5 million) project, being led by Airbus in the UK, to develop a way of designing and manufacturing aircraft wings, which will encourage a “right first time approach” and reduce development time.
Renishaw is adding to its optical encoder range with the launch of the Vionic series of digital incremental encoders.
Renishaw XM-60 multi-axis calibrator is capable of measuring all six degrees of freedom from a single set-up, in any orientation for linear axes. It offers improvement in simplicity and time saving over conventional laser measurement techniques.
Nimes, France: Renishaw’s Resolute series of absolute encoders now supports Symetrie’s Ground Integration and Calibration Support (GICS) and Zonda hexapods, designed for two types of advanced component validation testing in the manufacture of the Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) weather satellites, due for launch from 2019.
The Primo system by Renishaw consists of a radio part setter and a radio 3D tool setter, enabling automated onmachine part setting, part inspection and tool setting. There is therefore no need for offline manual tool setting equipment.
Having an effective CMM machine makes a difference when it comes to large scale machining in order to keep material and production costs down. Contributed by Renishaw.
FixtureBuilder is a 3D-modelling software package designed to allow the offline creation and documentation of fixturing setups. Easy to use, the FixtureBuilder features well-organised component libraries, an intelligent “drag-and-drop” function, a quick manipulation of parts and a user-friendly constraint mechanism.
The hype of the manufacturing world in recent years is centred on sustainability—of practices, of technology or of waste disposal—for a better future. But what exactly does ‘sustainable manufacturing’ mean, and how can a manufacturer achieve or engage in it? By Michelle Cheong
Renishaw’s TONiC diagnostic hardware kit can aid system optimisation and installation. Coming in a convenient carry-case to enable interface between any TONiC readhead and a standard USB port, the kit includes a diagnostic dongle and associated hardware, connectors and a USB cable.
