Japanese Machine Tool Orders Rose In November: JMTBA

Tokyo, Japan: JMTBA has reported that the total value of machine tool orders in November was JPY139.05 billion (US$1.1 billion), an increase of 4.0 percent compared to October. The increase also marked the first month of growth in two months. 

When compared to the same month of the previous year, this figure also represented an increase of 36.6 percent. The association says both domestic and foreign demands are expected to be driven by a recovery trend in the future. 

In Japan, domestic orders rose by 9.2 percent over October, amounting to JPY49.06 billion. The figure was an increase of 17.9 percent over the same month of the previous year and marked the 17th consecutive month of year-on-year growth.

Foreign orders also displayed similar upward trend. It rose by 1.4 percent over October to JPY89.99 billion. This marked the sixth consecutive month-on-month increase.
