Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Indonesia Tyre Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2020" report to their offering.

According to their report, the Indonesia tyre market is forecast to increase at a CAGR of more than 13 percent during 2015-2020.

Large two-wheeler fleet size, easy raw material availability and continuing government support would continue to drive the country's tyre market during the forecast period. The two-wheeler segment is the most dominant tyre segment in the country, followed by passenger car tyre, commercial vehicle tyre, OTR tyre and three-wheeler tyre segments.

Presently, the replacement tyre segment accounts for majority of the country's tyre demand and the trend is expected to continue over the next five years. Major tyre players operating in Indonesia include Gajah Tunggal, Suryaraya Rubber, Sumi Rubber, Industry Karet Deli and Bridgestone.

Indonesia is one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia. The country is the second largest producer of natural rubber in the world. With a population of over 249.9 million, the country has a large vehicle fleet size which is in excess of 27 million vehicles.

In 2014, two-wheeler and passenger car penetration in the country stood at 140 and 40 per thousand people, respectively, which underlines the high future potential the country offers in terms of both vehicle and tyre sales in the coming years. Increasing urbanization, improving road infrastructure and stable political environment serve as the major factors boosting the automobile industry including the tyre market in the country.
